Chocolate Chip Cookies
These chocolate chip cookies are a family favorite and always a crowd pleaser! There is no better dessert in my opinion than a warm and gooey chocolate chip cookie. Everyone needs to have the perfect cookie recipe tucked away for when you’re craving them! Homemade chocolate chip cookies are delicious and so easy to make at home, there is no need to buy them at the store! These cookies are soft and chewy but also still slightly crisp on the outside, which is everything I want in a cookie!
To make these irresistible cookies, start by preheating your oven to 350º then in a mixing bowl, mix 1 stick of unsalted butter, 6 tablespoons of granulated sugar and ½ cup of brown sugar until incorporated and smooth. Next, add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixing bowl and mix until smooth. Then, in a separate medium-sized bowl, combine 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Slowly add the flour mixture into the mixing bowl being careful not to over mix. Stir in 1 ½ cups of chocolate chips with a spoon until incorporated. Once everything is mixed together, refrigerate the cookie dough for about 15-30 minutes before baking. This step is important to making the cookies fluffy. After refrigeration, use a medium-sized cookie scoop and drop the dough evenly onto a prepared baking sheet. Bake the cookies at 350º for 12-15 minutes. Once your whole house smells delicious and the cookies are finished baking, pull them out of the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before placing them onto a cooling rack for 5-10 minutes before enjoying, if you can wait that long! This recipe usually makes around 18 cookies for us!
Pour yourself a big, cold glass of milk and enjoy a few of these warm and delicious cookies! These chocolate chip cookies are always a crowd pleaser anywhere I take them. You may want to double the recipe though, because these will not last long! I enjoy the chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven when they are still warm, but these cookies can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
