This stray cat has been sighted multiple times by residents of one of Southern California’s neighborhoods. In pursuit of sustenance, she attached herself to the courtyard of one home and proceeded to walk thither. The house owners provided food in bowls on a daily basis and did everything they could to assist the cat.

One weekend last month, when the cat came again, it was clear that she had just given birth. “She went out to people looking for help right after giving birth,” says Jan Marder, volunteer nanny with Wrenn Rescues.

Having established the location of the kittens in their yard, the owners of the house found that two of them were in poor condition. “These wonderful people cleaned the mother and her kittens, and took a heating pad out of the house to support the crumbs.”

Jen did not stand by when she saw a message on social media outlining the circumstances. Jen explains, “I picked them up the next day, when the kittens were 24 hours old.”

“The kittens were pretty little when they initially came.” Their mother greeted them warmly and purred pleasantly. She’s a scrumptious little doll.”

Queen Bee, a tabby cat around a year old, was far too young to be a mother. She was already happy to be carried into the house and purred loudly as she sat in the warm new bed with her children.

The Queen has always been particularly attentive to the tiny “bees,” feeding them generously and licking them clean.

Despite their best efforts, the weakest girl in the brood died, yet she was surrounded by love and warmth during her brief existence.

As the kittens grew older, they became more energetic and curious, eager to explore and analyze their surroundings. Queen Bee maintained a close check on everything.

She replies to their piercing shrieks and chirps at all times, making them feel cherished.

“Mom is fantastic with children. “She consumes food really quickly, simply to replenish herself, and then rushes back to nurse her babies,” Jen explains.

“As the kids grew older, she began to leave the nest to welcome me. She enjoys wrapping her arms around my legs and rubbing against me. She is a lovely young lady who will provide joy to whoever adopts her.

The kittens (called Bumblebee, Hardworking Bee, and Business Bee) are three weeks old and weigh 450 grams, marking yet another accomplishment.
