After the cat was hit by a car some passers-by found it and assumed that the one-year-old cat would not sưrvivе the disaster at all.
Fortunately, he was rushed to an emergency vet by a stranger.
When Tommy arrived at the hospital, the physicians started to work treating the injured tabby right away.
That’s when they discovered the cat had a dislocated hip, a shattered femur, and something else wrong with his hips on the other side.
One of his front legs was injured, and both of his rear legs were injured. Tommy’s procedure, on the other hand, would set him back thousands of dollars.
His rеscuеr was taken aback by the cost of the procedure, but she had no choice because the vet had told her there was nothing else she could do.
Tommy would either require surgery or be kiIIed. Refusing to lose up, the woman decided to seek a second opinion from another veterinarian.
One of his rear legs could not be salvaged, according to the new vet. The leg would have to be amputated.Luckily, the vet reached out to Sarah Richardson with Community Cats of Central Arkansas to see if she could help.
Sarah Richardson jumреd in to aid as soon as she heard the news. Regrettably, the procedure did not go as well as they had planned. Tommy was in bad shape when Sarah picked him up the next day.
Sarah told Tail Talez, “He was extremely unwell.” Sarah, on the other hand, was determined to help Tommy get back on his feet. She was eager to go to any length to assist him in his recovery.
Tommy was carried home by Sarah to relax and recover. She took care of all of his requirements and made sure he didn’t have to raise a single paw!
“As a result, he arrived at my place as the most crate-rested case I’d ever seen. He didn’t have to move at all,” she explained.
“So we got him an ergonomic bed and orthopedic bowls so he could simply bend over and eat and drink from his bed,” Sarah explained.
Sarah would also replace his urine pads and administer him medicines and pain relievers throughout the day.
She also put some toys in his box so he could play without having to get out of bed. Tommy was perking up in no time!
His actual nature began to emerge now that he was healthy and stronger.
Tommy was able to stand up and use the litter box on his own for the first time! Even though there were some gaps in between, this was a big accomplishment. Tommy’s first sign of progress was when he began using his litter box on his own.
Sarah was ecstatic to see how far he’d come!
“He was adamant about getting back on his feet… Sarah sharеd, “He’s a warrior.” Tommy soon outgrew his container and went into Sarah’s daughter’s room.
Tommy also found a new foster companion in the form of Mary, a cat! Tommy wasn’t a big admirer of other cats at first, so this was extra special.
“Mary and Tommy are inextricably linked.” “Mary assisted Tommy with everything, and they’re great friends,” she explained. The three-legged tabby came out of his shell and evolved into a lively and active cat with Mary’s aid.
Sarah said, “He is the most vibrant, vivacious, active cat.”
Tommy and Mary are now available for adơрtion as a bonded couple, and they are hope to find their forever family soon. Tommy has acquired confidence, strength, and a fantastic new life despite losing one of his legs.
We’re grateful to Sarah for giving this adorable youngster a chance to succeed!
Sarah is self-funded and frequently fosters adult/senior cats in serious condition who would otherwise be turned away or euthanized by others.
