Moonglade Rose, an animal rescuer, discovered an abandoned kitten in need of quick assistance in early October. She hurried the infant to the emergency room, where he was miraculously revived.
She decided to adopt the tiny one and call him Opie because he needed a home.
She was more than happy to be the kitten’s new mother, but she was concerned about one thing in particular. Andy, her resident cat who was also a rescue, was accustomed to being the king of the home. The wife was concerned that having a new cat around might detract from his greatest qualities. Thankfully, she had no idea she was in for a lovely surprise.
Andy went out to calm the cat as soon as he heard his cries. He began embracing and kissing the newcomer right once, lavishing him with all the TLC he so sorely needed. Andy stayed by his side the whole first night he was in the house.
The feline trio quickly grew inseparable. Andy takes his responsibilities as a big brother extremely seriously. He’s been teaching the kitten all he needs to know about kitten care — when is the best time to snooze, how to use the litter box, which hunting maneuvers are the most effective – and, most importantly, how to cuddle.
How lucky they all were to find each other!
